Do you work with an individual or team who demonstrates our STAR values in the work they do and who you feel should be celebrated?
We are extremely proud of our colleagues and the services we deliver to our local community. In recognition we’re holding an Employee STAR Awards event to recognise, celebrate and reward excellence and outstanding achievements across the council.
Our STAR-studded celebration event will be held on the evening of Thursday 14 May 2020 at Raven’s Ait, Portsmouth Road, Kingston-Upon-Thames.
There are eight award categories that link in with our STAR values and some special awards:
Sponsored awards
Supportive of Innovation Award x 2 (individual & team)
Transparent and Connected Award x 2 (individual & team)
Appreciation Award x 2 (individual & team)
Respect and Inclusion Award x 2 (individual & team)
Special awards
Rising STAR Award x1
Partnership STAR Award x1
STAR of the year Award x1 (not for nomination - chosen by the panel)
Volunteering STAR award x1 (not for nomination - chosen by the panel)
You can nominate any Kingston employee(s) or those working in our shared services. We are looking for examples where a colleague or team has really made a difference to improving the way we can work better together with our communities and/or has demonstrated our STAR values in their achievements.
Please make your nominations by 1 April 2020. Shortlisting will take place by Wednesday 22 April.
Sponsorship To make the event as much of a celebration as possible for our amazing staff, we have asked our partners and providers if they'd like to sponsor the awards. We have had lots of interest and the money will be going to making the evening as enjoyable and glitzy as possible! Sponsors will receive pre and post-event publicity within the council, as well as a stand at the event.
COVID-19 (Coronavirus) update: Currently the national advice on running events is to continue as planned. We will keep this under review and should anything change in the coming weeks we will keep you updated as to whether the staff awards will continue to go ahead. Read our staff guidance for more information and advice.
