At Kingston Council we are working hard to make public spaces safer to support cycling and walking particularly outside schools. To do this we are seeking your views on whether you would like to trial a ‘School Street’ on Latchmere Road as shown on the attached plan in the 'Documents' tab on the right.
Four ‘School Streets’ have already been introduced across the borough as a trial using experimental orders. The scheme seeks to address issues relayed from the residents within this area, to us and the school, related to congestion and poor parking around the school, vehicle idling and road safety.
Kingston Town Neighbourhood Committee at their meeting on 9 January 2020, have asked to seek the residents' views prior to any trial on Latchmere Road. If the scheme were to go ahead it would restrict vehicles between 08.15 - 09.30am and 2.30 - 3.30pm Monday to Friday only during school term times.
Tell us what you think
We want to hear your views regarding this trial on your road. You can let us know what you think by completing the questionnaire online.
When will the results be considered?
Results of this consultation and all comments made will be considered at the next Kingston Town neighbourhood Committee meeting on 3 November 2020, at the same meeting members will be discussing extension of the PPA in North Kingston.
