Update

We received a lot of feedback from residents, which has helped us to refine our plans and set clear priorities for how we can help Kingston to recover from the effects of the Covid pandemic, and make Kingston a great place to live, learn and work.

The plan for Kingston's budget is now due to be discussed at a Full Council meeting on 25 February. As someone that has helped to shape our plans, we thought you might want the chance to see how these decisions are made. You can watch the committee meeting live on YouTube and you can find out more about the meeting via our website.

Additionally, please keep an eye out for specific resident engagements which are either underway or will happen in the coming months and offer you the opportunity to comment in detail on specific proposals. Sign up to our newsletter at

Our job at Kingston Council is to deliver services which make our borough a great place to live, work or study.

Over the last ten years the way we are funded has presented us with significant challenges and the type and amount of support we need to provide across the borough has increased in the last few years. This means we need to be extra considerate of the support and services we offer.

We have to make choices about how we can best do this in a way that is effective and sustainable. These decisions are not easy and the input of residents and businesses will help guide the decisions we make.

This plan sets out our priorities for the next year and how we believe we can best help both residents and businesses to recover, thrive and prosper.

We want to hear from Kingston residents of all ages, those who live outside the borough and use our services, as well as businesses, community and interest groups. You can read about our budget planning for 2021-2022 and use the feedback form below to let us know your comments.

The general budget feedback is in addition to service-specific engagement which has either underway or will happen in the coming months and offers you the opportunity to comment in detail on specific proposals.

If you require any of these documents or the survey in a more accessible format, please contact engagement@kingston.gov.uk or call 020 8547 5000.
