My family and I were saddened to hear of the passing of HRH Prince Phillip the Duke of Edinburgh. He was the glue that held our country together and his passing will leave a hole in the heart of the nation. I was privileged to see him when he and Her Majesty visited Kingston. I and some friends were standing in the market opposite the stalls, he was walking along our side and greeting people when he stopped in front of us with a twinkle in his eye said "shouldn't you be at work" we all laughed and said no sir we are here to see you, with that he chuckled and went on to other people who were there for the same reason. He was unique among men and will be remembered with love and a great respect for an icon of our time. Rest In Peace Prince Phillip.

I have been truly saddened by the passing of HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. Whilst on Council and as Mayor of Wandsworth I met and spoke to him, I followed and engaged with some of the charities he worked with. I found him so engaging and an absolute force of determination. We, as a nation will miss him, his direction, his support and his sense of the right. I can not imagine how lost those he leaves behind will feel. I send my condolences too , heartfelt and deep.

My sincere condolences to The Royal Family for the loss of Prince Philip. He was a well respected and revered member of the monarchy comitted to his duty, family, philanthropy and dedication to the environment. His fresh wit brought together every class and creed from all walks of life and evidence of this on the mass global response to his passing away, emphasising a monarchy that all citizens of England can be proud of. May His soul rest in peace.

I had the pleasure of meeting Her Majesty the Queen and Prince Philip when they visited Hong Kong where I was part of a Gymnastic team entertaining their Royal Highnesses. I shook both of their hands. Before this and definitely afterwards I was a supporter of the Royal family. Thank you Prince Philip for your dedication to service and Her Majesty. I will really miss you wacky sense if humour and wit! God bless you xxx

Susan Paine. Surbiton. Condolences to the Royal Family especially to Her Majesty the Queen on the sad death of His Highness Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. My two godsons completed their gold D of E awards and received them at the Palace from Prince Philip. They remember how His Highness showed great interest in the recipients and their parents. His Highness has done a great deal for millions of young people all over the world through this scheme. His unstinting support for Her Majesty the Queen has been truly amazing. May he rest in peace and rise in glory.
